First beach trip
Makenzie is 8 1/2 months old now. She is getting sooo BIG ! She is about 15.5 pounds now, not sure how tall but we go for her 9 month check up in about 2 weeks. Makenzie said “Mama” first about 3 weeks ago (thanks to daddy working with her), and has been followed by “dada”, “baba”, “mo” for more, and “dapa” (we think this is Papa). Makenzie has got waving Hi and Bye down pat, she waves to everything now, especially in the mornings. Makenzie also loves to play peek-a-boo and pat-a-cake. And she especially loves her walker. She is all over the place in it. Over this next weekend, we are going to work on "baby proofing" the house. Let the fun begin !!
Makenzie just got to go on her very 1st road trip to Panama City Beach (thank you to Aunt Cindy and Uncle Wally who let us use the condo). Mimi and Papa came along too! The condo has a wall that is all mirrors, and Kenz thought this was the greatest thing ever and loved to give the baby in the mirror a love (sorry Cindy for all of the little finger prints and slobber).
Makenzie had a blast at the beach and the pool. Of course, you would never know it, because we could not get a smiling picture the entire 4 days at the beach, she was just too busy taking it all in. Makenzie did get hit by a wave and it knocked her over, but she just sat back up, licked her lips, and kept on playing. At the pool, everytime she got in without a float she would kick and kick and kick. She looked like a little frog. The first night at the pool, Mimi got to take Makenzie underwater for the first time, she was a little nervous (Mimi, not Makenzie). Makenzie did great! By the end of the 4 days she knew what was coming when you counted to 3 and would hold her breath. She is going to be a little fish!
